The basis of my work is a series of drawings, which since my arrival here in 1999 have evolved from the creative encounter with the existing urban landscape in Berlin. As a body of work it deals with different issues: the representation of the urban landscape, its dynamic and its subsequent transformation, and the element of standardization, the DIN, which is the common denominator that determines the city´s physical form. The city, its structures and the story they tell us are the raw material for this visual work.
I am also interested in exploring how we perceive the city, as a place which is in a state of constant renewal and destruction, described by Ernst Bloch as a city fated “always to become and never to be”.
